About the Author
John McCain was a US Senator from Arizona from 1987 to 2018. He was a Republican and served as the party's nominee for President of the United States in 2008. McCain was a decorated war hero, having served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was captured and held as a prisoner of war for five and a half years.
McCain died of brain cancer on August 25, 2018. He was 81 years old.
