The Legion of Super-Heroes is a team of young superheroes from the 30th century. They were created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, and first appeared in Adventure Comics #247 in 1958. The Legion's mission is to protect the United Planets and to ensure the safety of the galaxy.

The Legion has a long and storied history, and has been featured in numerous comic books, television shows, and animated films. The team has also been the subject of several novels and video games.

The Legion of Super-Heroes: 1980-1985

The 1980s were a time of great change for the Legion of Super-Heroes. In 1980, the team was relaunched with a new creative team, led by writer Paul Levitz and artist Keith Giffen. This new team took the Legion in a more science fiction-oriented direction, and introduced several new characters, including Cosmic Boy, Shadow Lass, and Princess Projectra.

The 1980s also saw the Legion face some of its greatest challenges. The team was forced to confront the Time Trapper, a powerful villain who sought to destroy the Legion's timeline. The Legion also had to deal with the threat of the Fatal Five, a group of deadly villains who were determined to destroy the United Planets.

Despite these challenges, the Legion emerged from the 1980s as a stronger and more united team. The team's popularity continued to grow, and the Legion became one of the most popular superhero teams in the world.
