Hiawassee Child Of The Meadow Book Cover Hiawassee Child Of The Meadow

Synopsis

Hiawassee Child Of The Meadow is a beautifully written novel that tells the story of a young Cherokee girl who is forced to leave her home and family during the Trail of Tears. The novel is a moving and inspiring account of one girl's journey to find her place in the world and to come to terms with the loss of her culture.

Hiawassee is a young Cherokee girl who lives in the mountains of North Carolina. She is a happy and carefree child, who loves to play with her friends and explore the forest. However, her life is turned upside down when the white settlers arrive and force the Cherokee to leave their homes.

Hiawassee and her family are forced to march along the Trail of Tears, a long and arduous journey that takes them to a reservation in Oklahoma. Along the way, Hiawassee witnesses the death of her parents and many of her friends. She is also separated from her siblings and never sees them again.

Despite the hardships she faces, Hiawassee never gives up hope. She learns to adapt to her new life and to find happiness in the simple things. She also learns to forgive the white settlers for the wrongs they have done to her people.

Hiawassee Child Of The Meadow is a powerful and moving story of love, loss, and redemption. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.

Author's Note

I wrote Hiawassee Child Of The Meadow to tell the story of the Cherokee people and the Trail of Tears. I wanted to give a voice to the voiceless and to show the world the resilience of the human spirit.

I hope that this novel will help to raise awareness of the history of the Cherokee people and the Trail of Tears. I also hope that it will inspire people to fight against injustice and to work for a better world.
